Background:
My experience editing began in college where I worked
on the literary magazine. Each staff member had to proofread the pieces we accepted. I found I had a sharp eye
for catching mistakes.
I decided to use the name OC Girl because I am pretty
obsessive-compulsive when it comes to written material being correct. I have to restrain myself from stopping at
businesses and pointing out errors on their signs.
Philosophy:
My work on the literary magazine taught me a respect
for writers and their work. I understand why editors in large publishing houses feel the need to change a work to make
it more marketable; however, I don't see that as my role. My job is to help you to make sure you are communicating
to your readers the way you intend. So, let's get started!
